RBE No. 79/2023

The Ministry of Railways has issued an amendment to Para 122 of the Indian Railway Establishment Manual (IREM) Vol.I regarding the filling up of posts of Station Masters. The amendment states that Shunting Master/Jamadar & TNCs in Level-6 will now be eligible for promotion to the post of Station Master in Level-6 under the 25% General Selection Quota. However, this promotion will be considered a lateral transfer and will not result in a pay fixation at the same level as Station Masters.
