OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject:- FIXATION OF PAY OF GRADE I OFFICERS OF THE CENTRAL SECRETARIAT SERVICE, PROMOTED TO THE SELECTION GRADE OF THAT SERVICE.

The President is planned to decide that in super session of all the orders ont eh subject, the initial pay of a Grade I Officer to the Central Secretariat Service in the scale of Rs. 900-50-1200 promoted in a substantive or officiating capacity to the Selection Grade of that Service in the scale of Rs. 1100-50-1300-60-1600-100-1800 shall ebe fixed at the higher of the following two amounts, namely:-

(i) the minimum of the time scale of the Selection Grade; and

(ii) the stage in the time scale of the Selection Grade equal to the pay of the officer in Grade I plus Rs. 150/-, or if there is no such stage, at the next higher stage.

2.The President is also pleased to decide that in the case of officers officiating in the Selection Grade, on an enhancement of their substantive pay in Grade I of the C.S.S. as a result of increment or otherwise, the officiating pay of the officers in the Selection Grade shall be refixed in accordance with the above provisions if such a refixation is to their advantage.

3.These orders shall be effective from the Ist of July, 1959. Permanent Grade I officers who were officiating in the Selection Grade on this date may, however, have their pay in the Selection Grade refixed in accordance with the above provisions with effect from Ist July, 1959 with reference to their substantive pay in Grade I as on this date, if such a refixation is to their advantage.

4.Necessary amendments to the Schedule to Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1960 will be issued in due course.
