Railway Ministry announces updates on financial upgradation under MACPS

The Indian Ministry of Railways has issued a notification regarding the counting of temporary status service for the purpose of Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS). The Department of Personnel and Training has clarified that casual employees, including those granted temporary status, and those appointed on an ad-hoc or contract basis, shall not qualify for the benefit under the scheme. The Ministry of Railways has, therefore, withdrawn its earlier instructions regarding the counting of temporary status service for the purpose of MACPS. However, the cases already decided need not be re-opened.
