Model Constitution for the Residents Welfare Associations recognized by the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training – Regarding

Sub.:- Model Constitution for the Residents Welfare Associations recognized by the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training – Regarding

Sir/Madam,

Para 4(i) of the Model Constitution for the Residents Welfare Association recognized by the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training provides –

“No distinction of class or character should appear in the name of Association(s). It is, advisable to name an Association as CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES RESIDENTS WELFARE ASSOCIATION/KENDRIYA SARKAR KARAMCHARI AWASIYA SUDHAR KAYAN SABHA’……………. followed by the name of Blocks/Type/Number of Quarters/area covered or represented by the Association so as to suitably give an identification to it. No names other than the two mentioned above will be acceptable and, for the sake of uniformity, such Associations having different names should initiate action to change their names. An intimation to this effect will be sent to the Department of Personnel and Training.”

2. Instances have come to notice that the Associations registered with different names have not taken action to change their names in accordance with the provisions of the Model Constitution mentioned above.

3. All Central Government Employees Residents Welfare Associations recognized by the Department of Personnel and Training are, therefore, requested to take immediate action to change their names, if registered with the Registrar of Societies with different names. A copy of the original Registration Certificate as also Certificate of amendment in their names, issued by the Registrar of Societies, may please be sent to this Department for record, failing which no Grants-in-aid would be sanctioned to the Association in future.
