This dip contrasts with a 0.84% increase in the same period the previous year. The index is heavily influenced by the price of food and beverages, especially items like fish, mustard oil, and certain vegetables. Certain items like rice and dairy milk applied upward pressure on the index. Year-on-year inflation for the month was 4.72%.

Licence Fee Revision: Standard Rent for Residential Accommodation on Indian Railways w.e.f. 01.07.2023
The Indian Railway Ministry has announced a revision in the flat rate of Licence Fee (Standard Rent) for railway residential properties, effective from July 1, 2023. This update follows a previous revision in July 2020. The revised rates, detailed in Annexure-A, apply to all railway residential accommodations, excluding sub-standard ones. Immediate implementation of these changes has been directed.
