Revised Age Limit for J.E. Selection under 15% LDCE Quota in Bridge Organisation

The Railway Board, in its recent order RBE No. 92/2023, has decided to modify the age limit for the selection to the post of Junior Engineer (J.E.) against the 15% LDCE (Limited Departmental Competitive Examination) Quota in the Bridge Organisation under the Civil Engineering Department. Previously, the upper age limit for this selection was set at 49 years.

However, it has now been enhanced to 47 years for candidates applying under the Indian Railways Accounts Service (IA) quota. Additionally, the upper age limit for SC/ST employees has been fixed at 52 years to align it with the age limit for appearing in selections for J.E. against the IA quota in other Civil Engineering streams. This decision comes in response to the matter being raised by AIRF (All India Railwaymen’s Federation). The new age limits aim to offer equitable opportunities for candidates applying to the J.E. position in the Bridge Organisation.
