Why the retirement age for Central Government Employees is not increased from 60 to 62?!
Retirement Age 62
Some days ago, we had posted a news paper article on the possibility of increasing the retirement age limit of scientists from 60 to 62.
Whenever we happen to read it, the question of when the retirement age for central government employees will be increased arises in our minds. Some valid reasons to justify this thought:
1) The average life span of an individual has increased
2) The age limit to get appointment in a job has also been increased
3) As per the existing MACP rules, it is slightly difficult for an employee to get a third MACP
4) The new pension scheme was introduced after 1.1.2004
5) Today, in many countries, the average retirement age is 63. When compared to this the retirement age limit in our country is 60.
In spite of all these valid reasons why the retirement age for Central Government Employees is not increased from 60 to 62
