Sir,

Sub:-Grant of legitimate perks and privilege to the female Railway employees-reg.

 

The undersigned is directed to refer to item No  (i) of NFIR’s letter No I/5(f), dated 14/11/2012 and to state that Transport Allowance is provided to compensate for the cost incurred on account of commuting between the plaCe of residence and place of duty.

Further, the instructions regarding admissibility of Transport Allowance during absence from duty due to leave, Training, tour etc, are contained in Board’s letter dated 24-11-2003 (RBE No.203/2003) stipulates that “Transport AIlpwance will not be admissible if a Railway servant is absent from duty for full calendar month(s) due to leave, training tour etc”

Moreover, the instructions on Transport Allowance are issued on the basis of orders received from Ministry of Finance, the nodal department of Government on Transport Allowance. As such, this Ministry is not in position to deviate from the instructions issued by them.
