Subject : Calling for applications to the posts of Research Consultants
in Fiscal Policy Institute
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment on contract basis to the posts of Research Consultants with experience in any of the following subjects i.e. Public Revenue, Financial Management, Public Expenditure, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Project Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Organizational Behaviour, Social work, Public Accounts, Government Auditing and Fiscal Laws.
Profile of the Fiscal Policy Institute : The Institute was set up by the Govt. of Karnataka in the year 2007 with the support from the Planning commission and is functioning under the aegis of Finance Department. The key objectives of the FPI are to provide training to public officials in fiscal policy issues and operations, providing systemic support relating to public Financial Management (PFM) with focus on state, national and local bodies’ finances. Further, research and consultancy in the relevant field is also expected from FPI.
Job Requirements : The Research Officers will be supporting the faculty of FPI who are engaged in training, research and consultancy activities. The Selected candidates inter-alia are required to compile and manage data, prepare documents, involve in writing reports, engage in statistical analysis, co-ordinate training activities, web-site management etc. The job may also require travelling outsite Bangalore, subject to normal allowances.
Note : if any of the candidates want to pursue higher studies, specialized studies, they will be encouraged to do so while balancing their work on hand.
Educational qualification : Ph.D.or M.Phil in the relevant filed from any recognized university with post-graduate degree in Economics (in the area of specialization) or business Management or commerce or statistics or information Technology or Human Resources or Public Administration with a first class.
Age: Age of the candidates shall be less than 40 years as on 01.08.2012
Experience Criteria : (a) The candidates are required to have research experience of at least 2 years. (b) The candidates should have experience in using computers especially in MS office and knowledge of statistical packages is desirable (c) Those with teaching experience and proficiency in data analysis techniques are preferred.
Pay Scale : Candidates with 3-4 years of experience will be paid a consolidated pay of Rs.35,000 per month and candidates with 5 years experience will be paid a consolidated pay of Rs.40,000/- p.m.
How to Apply and general conditions : (a) Eligible candidates should send their resume in indicating details of name, age, gender, language proficiency (reading, writing and speaking) educational qualification (indicating grades with subjects and university year of passing etc) work experience, research experience, contact phone number (mobile and land line) email address, proof of identify, reference addresses and contact e-mail of two teachers who had taught the candidate for latest degree or a reference from previous or present employer (b) Applications completed in all respects shall be sent to e-mail dir-fpi@karnataka.gov.in with a copy to shivakumaryc@gmai.com before 31st August 2012. Delayed applications will not be considered. There is no application fee. Proof of all the above information will have to do provided at the time of interview.
(c) The Short –listed will be called for interview on the 10th September 2012 at FPI office 8th Floor, MSIL House, Cunningham Road, Bangalore – 560 052. The timing will be intimated by email and by SMS.
(d) The candidates will be appointed subject to medical fitness and also subject to giving a Bond to work in the Institute for a minimum period of two years and also subject to satisfactory output, reviewed every half year.
(e) The terms and conditions of contract will be as applicable under the provisions of the Karnataka Civil Services (General recruitment) Rules and general guidelines issued by Government from time to time.
