Reconsideration of Retirement Age for Government Employees: Official Response [2024]

The government clarified that there is no current proposal to revise the retirement age of central government employees. - Youth Employment Measures:
While changes to the retirement policy are not on the agenda, the government is actively working on several measures to promote youth employment:- Conducting Rozgar Melas to fill vacant positions across central ministries, departments, and public sector undertakings.
- Time-bound recruitment drives in sectors such as education, health, and autonomous bodies.
These efforts aim to streamline the recruitment process and ensure timely filling of posts to boost employment opportunities for the younger generation.
