RBE No. 107/2023: Significant Changes in Type Test Criteria for Railway Staff

In RBE No. 107/2023, the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has issued a notification regarding the exemption from passing the Type Test for medically de-categorised employees appointed in ministerial categories. This exemption was initially granted in a previous communication (RBE No. 161/2022) dated 09.12.2022.

Sub: Exemption from passing the Type Test on alternative appointment for medically de-categorised employees in the post of ministerial categories.

Attention is drawn to Board’s letter dated 09.12.2022 (RBE No. 161/2022) wherein medically de-categorised staff who are given alternative appointment in clerical categories, have been exempted from the requirement of passing the type test as a necessary condition for drawing further increment(s).

  1. On the demand of the Staff Side, the matter has been re-examined. It has been decided by the competent authority that the requirement of passing the type test for decategorised serving employees for all purposes may be dispensed with.
