The Indian Ministry of Defence, in response to an unstarred question raised in the Rajya Sabha by Shri Ajay Pratap Singh on July 24, 2023, provided information about the introduction of an e-platform to facilitate the availability of CSD (Canteen Stores Department) canteen facilities and other services for ex-servicemen.
The question aimed to understand the government’s plans and progress in creating an online platform similar to popular e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. This initiative is particularly intended to cater to ex-servicemen residing in remote and distant areas who might find it challenging to access traditional brick-and-mortar CSD facilities.
