The Defence Accounts Department has issued a circular (No AN/VIII/8210/RR/SAO/2021/P-213) dated 08.08.2023, announcing the merger of the positions of Accounts Officer and Senior Accounts Officer. This decision follows the approval of the competent authority and applies to the Senior Accounts Officers who were promoted according to the CGDA promotion order dated 30.11.2022.
Out of the total 633 promotions, with 2 being non-effective, these Senior Accounts Officers of Group ‘B’ will now be upgraded to Group ‘A’ from their date of promotion to Senior Accounts Officer. The respective offices (PCsDA/PCA (Fys)/CsDA and Admin IV (Local)) are instructed to publish and forward a Part-II Office Order regarding this merger for officers under their jurisdiction to the HQrs. The circular is signed by Mohan Lal Meena, Sr. ACGDA (AN).

Please refer to the HQrs Office letter cited above. Further, it has been decided with the approval of the competent authority that the Sr.AOs promoted vide CGDA promotion order notified on 30.11.2022, wherein total 633 (out of which 2 were non-effective) were promoted as Sr.AO (Group-‘B’) may also be upgraded to the Group- ‘A’ from the date of their promotion in Sr.AO grade.
