The Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has introduced a color coding system for sanctions related to various types of transactions within the e-Bill functionality of the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). Through an Office Memorandum dated August 28, 2023, the Controller General of Accounts has outlined that this color coding feature is now available to all Treasury users, including Sanction Makers, Sanction Checkers, Drawing and Disbursing Officers, Dealing Hands, Assistant Accounts Officers, and Pay and Accounts Officers.

Subject: Color coding for sanctions related to various types of transactions in the e-Bill functionality of PFMS-reg .
The undersigned is directed to refer to the subject above and state that color coding has been provided in PFMS for specific types of e-sanction at the level of all types of Treasury users viz. Sanction Maker, Sanction Checker, Drawing and Disbursing Officer, Dealing Hand, AAO and PAO. The color coding is available under e-Sanction>Manage e-Sanction page to facilitate users to identify the particular types of sanctions/bills. Four colors are given to different types of e-sanctions as under:-

It is requested that the above feature may be brought to the knowledge of all users of offices under your control so that they can make use of the same.
