The Indian Ministry of Railways has issued a revised guideline (RBE No. 95/2023) for the purchase of staff cars for official use. The Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, provided these updated guidelines in their Office Memorandum (O.M.) No. 18(23)/E.Coord-2021 on 1st September 2022. The Railway Board has decided to adopt these instructions specifically for the purchase of staff cars on the Railways.

The Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure vide their O.M. No.18(23)/E.Coord-2021 dated 01st Sept.2022 have issued revised guidelines regarding Net Dealer Price (NDP) for purchase of staff cars for official use. It has been decided to adopt these instructions in so far as purchase of staff cars on the Railways is concerned.
- Accordingly, in modification of instructions contained in Board’s letter No. E(G)2014 AL 4-14 dated 29.09.2014, it has been decided that models of cars with NDP of upto Rs.6,00,000/- available in the GeM only shall be considered for purchase as staff car. The purchase may be made only through GeM.
- This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
