Agniveers Joining the Skies of Civil Aviation

The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) is a healthcare program launched by the Government of India’s Ministry of Defence in April 2003. The scheme aims to provide quality medical care to Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and their dependents by utilizing the medical infrastructure of Armed Forces as well as private empanelled and government hospitals across India, including six facilities in Nepal. The ECHS operates through 30 Regional Centres and 433 Polyclinics nationwide and has over 3000 empanelled medical facilities. As of the time of the question, it caters to approximately 58 lakh beneficiaries.

EMPLOYMENT OF AGNIVEERS IN CIVIL AVIATION SECTOR

    Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-

(a) whether the Ministry has drawn any plan of inducting the Agniveers into its various services;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) whether the Government would also impress upon private players in the Civil Aviation Sector to give preference to Agniveers in employment and if so, the details thereof?

ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (GEN. (DR) V. K. SINGH (RETD))

(a) to (c) Yes. The posts of Junior Assistant (Fire Fighting Services) and Private Security Agencies (PSA) for Non-Core functions have been identified for recruitment of Agniveers in Civil Aviation Sector.

Recruitment of Agniveers by PSA will be conducted in terms of HR regulations of the Private entities, their Security Programme and Quality Control Programme complying with the provisions under BCAS’ AvSec Order 04/2022 dated 08th June, 2022.
