The Department of Posts in India has directed all its operative offices, including post offices, mail offices, PSDs, and MMS units, to shift to Aadhar linked biometric attendance.

This comes as a result of a DoPT instruction dated 21-11-2014, which mandated the use of Aadhar linked biometric attendance in all Central Government and its subordinate offices throughout the country. The cost of procuring fingerprint scanners may be booked under Non-scheme OE/OC of Post offices. Technical support for this exercise shall be provided by Sh Sudidhi Das, Director (IT) NIC Dak Bhawan.
