Subject: Request for Cashless Treatment Facilities for Serving Central Government Employees covered under CGHS or CS(MA) Rules, 1944
Sir,
I am writing to bring your attention to the matter of providing cashless treatment facilities for serving Central Government employees covered under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) or the Central Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1944.
During our courtesy meeting held on 27.04.2023, we had the opportunity to discuss various aspects related to the healthcare benefits of serving employees under CGHS or CS(MA) Rules. We deeply appreciate the initiatives taken by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in extending cashless treatment facilities for retired CGHS beneficiaries at the six All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) located in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur, and Rishikesh.
While we acknowledge the positive impact of this decision on retired beneficiaries, we believe it is essential to extend similar cashless treatment facilities to serving Central Government employees as well. As serving employees covered under CGHS or CS(MA) Rules, they contribute significantly to the nation’s progress and are deserving of the same level of healthcare benefits and convenience.
Providing cashless treatment facilities to serving employees would not only streamline the healthcare process but also alleviate the financial burden and paperwork associated with seeking reimbursement. It would enable them to access timely and quality healthcare services without having to worry about upfront payments and subsequent claims.
We understand the challenges involved in implementing such a system on a broader scale, considering the large number of serving employees under CGHS or CS(MA) Rules. However, with the advancements in technology and digital healthcare infrastructure, we firmly believe that it is within our reach to create a seamless and efficient cashless treatment system for serving employees.
We kindly request the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to consider our proposal and initiate the necessary steps to explore the feasibility and implementation of cashless treatment facilities for serving Central Government employees covered under CGHS or CS(MA) Rules. Such a progressive measure would not only enhance the welfare of the serving employees but also foster their well-being, productivity, and job satisfaction.
We express our sincere gratitude for your attention to this matter and your continuous efforts in improving the healthcare benefits for government employees. We remain confident in your leadership and commitment to the well-being of serving employees, and we eagerly await a positive response regarding the extension of cashless treatment facilities.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely yours
(MUKESH SINGH)
