Railway Board Directs Indian Railways to Implement “Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013”

The Indian Railways, under the Ministry of Railways, has been directed by the Railway Board to implement the provisions of “The Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013.” In compliance with the W.P (C) No.324/2020 proceedings before the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the Notification issued via GSR 376(E) dated 04.06.2014 & GSR 726(E) dated 13.10.2014, will be rescinded immediately. This directive was issued through the Board’s letter of even number dated 23.07.2014 & 24.12.2014, signed by Principal Executive Director/IR, Deepak Peter Gabriel
