The Indian Railways Ministry has issued a letter to all Zonal Railways and Production Units, Metro Railway, Kolkata, CORE/Prayagraj, RWP/Bela, WPO/Patna, the Director General of RDSO in Lucknow and the Director General of NAIR in Vadodara. The letter is about creating an enabling ecosystem for safety and empowerment of women, which was discussed during the 2nd National Conference of Chief Secretaries in New Delhi from January 5-7, 2023. The Railways have been requested to adhere to the instructions issued in the letter and provide an Action Taken Report on item No.3 by March 31, 2023.

As the Zonal Railways are aware, 2nd National Conference of Chief Secretaries was organized in New Delhi from January, 5-7, 2023. During open house discussion and guidance given by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, certain action points emerged that are crucial for ensuring safety, security and economic empowerment of women and girls in the country and in realizing the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of turning around the country as a developed nation during ‘Amrit Kaal’.
- In the Action Points annexed with the d.o letter Item No.3 has been marked to all Ministries/Departments. Railways are requested to adhere to the instruction issued vide letter under reference and to furnish an Action Taken Report on the item No.3 latest by 31.03.2023.
