Pending Disability & Service Pension Claims for Defence Officers

The Minister of State for Defence, Shri Ajay Bhatt, answered a question in Lok Sabha regarding disability pension for defence personnel. The Minister stated that there is no pension claim pending for defence forces personnel beyond the prescribed limit for notification, as per the current policies and rules of the government. The Minister also provided the year-wise details of the total number of defence pensioners granted disability pension in the last five years and current year.

DISABILITY PENSION TO DEFENCE PERSONNEL

  1. SHRI CHANDESHAR PRASAD:

Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:-

(a) the total number of defence personnel provided disability pension during the last five years and the current year, year-wise;

(b) whether the Government is aware that somearmy officers have not got their disability and service pension even after one year of their discharge from service;

(c) if so, the details of total number of suchcases pending till date alongwith the reasons for delay in crediting their disability and service pension;

(d) whether the Government has given anyassurance in this regard; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?
