The Ministry of Railways in India has issued a letter regarding the closure of the Central Organisation for Modernisation of Workshops (COFMOW). The closure is part of the rationalization of government bodies under the Ministry of Railways and is to be completed by 31st March 2023. The deadline will not be extended and all pending work must be completed before the deadline. The instructions have been issued with the approval of the competent authority.

Instructions issued vide Board’s letter dated 28.11.2022 referred above may be adhered to.
- It is reiterated that the timeline fixed for closure of COFMOW i.e. 31.03.2023 would not be extended and all the pending work towards closure of COFMOW may be completed before the deadline.
