The Indian Railway Board has issued a notification to all zonal railways and production units to update and verify the Aadhar-based data of railway employees. The Aadhar-enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) has been implemented on Indian Railways, and it is now necessary to update and correct the Aadhar information in the HR database of Indian Railways. The move will help in identifying impersonation of employees and weeding out duplication of employees/ghost employees. The zonal railways and units have been asked to complete the exercise by 28.02.2023 and submit a compliance report indicating the additional number of railway employees added in AEBAS after due verification and the number of ghost employees weeded out during the process. The UIDAI has expressed their willingness to provide necessary support in the above exercise.
