RB Approves Increase in Age Limit & Maximum Annual Terms for Retired Doctor Hiring on NFR

The Ministry of Railways, Government of India has decided to increase the existing age limit and number of maximum permissible annual terms for engagement of retired Railway/Government doctors as Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) on the Northeast Frontier Railway. The existing age limit of 67 years has been increased to 70 years and the number of maximum permissible annual terms has been increased from 07 to 10 terms. This decision has been made as a special case subject to the condition that the on-roll strength and engagement of CMPs shall not exceed the sanctioned cadre strength.

Please refer to Northeast Frontier Railway’s letter ibid requesting for increasing the existing age limit and number of maximum permissible annual terms for engagement of retired Railway/Government doctors as Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) on NFR.

  1. The issue has been examined in Board’s office in consultation with Health and Finance Directorates of Ministry of Railways and with the approval of Member (Finance), Chairman & CEO /RB and Hon’ble MR, it has been decided to increase the existing age limit of 67 years to 70 years and number of maximum permissible annual terms from existing 07 terms to 10 terms as regards engagement of retired Railway/ Government doctors (including retired doctors from PSUs whose service is not pensionable) as Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) on Northeast Frontier Railway as a special case subject to the condition that on-roll strength and engagement of CMPs shall not exceed sanctioned cadre strength.
  2. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
