Amendments to Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Guidelines 2023

The Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Amendment Rules, 2023 have been issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to article 309 of the Constitution. These rules amend the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965. Specifically, the amendment removes sub-paragraph (xi) and corresponding entries in columns (3), (4), and (5) from serial numbers 1 and 2 in Part V of the Schedule to the 1965 rules. These amendments will come into force on the day of their publication in the Official Gazette.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 10th January, 2023

G.S.R. 18(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, namely:-

  1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Amendment Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force on the day of their publication in the Official Gazette.

  1. In the Schedule to the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, in Part V,-

(i) against serial number 1, in column (2), in paragraph (B), sub-paragraph (xi) and the corresponding entries relating thereto in columns (3), (4) and (5) shall be omitted;

(ii) against serial number 2, in column (2), in paragraph (B), sub-paragraph (xi) and the corresponding entries relating thereto in columns (3), (4) and (5) shall be omitted.

Note: The principal rules were notified vide notification number S.O. 3703, dated the 20th November, 1965, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (11), on the 24th November, 1965, and last amended vide notification number G.S.R. 156, dated the 19th October, 2022, published in the Gazette of India on the 22nd October, 2022.
