Letter Writing Overview
Letter-writing is an art, so while writing the letter, easy, simple and common spoken language should be used in the letter, so that the recipient of the letter can understand the expressions expressed in the letter well. In letter writing we can express our feelings and thoughts. Through letters, a person can convey his point of view to others. Those things which people are hesitant to say, those things can be easily explained or said through letters.
Formal letters are written to those with whom we do not have any personal relationship. Formal letters are letters written to the principal, applications, business related, letters written to government departments, letters to the editor, etc. The language of formal letters is simple and polite. These letters only talk about work or one’s own problem.

आदरणीय महोदय,
सविनय निवेदन यह है कि मैं कक्षा 10 का विद्यार्थी हूं मैं एक गरीब परिवार का सदस्य हूं मेरे पिताजी रिक्शा चालक है और वर्तमान में उनकी तबीयत सही नहीं होने के कारण वह ठीक प्रकार से आजीविका भी नहीं कमा पा रहे है। जिसके कारण हमारे घर में आर्थिक संकट आ गया है।
मेरे पिताजी की ₹3000 प्रति महीने आए हैं जिससे घर चलाना मुश्किल हो गया है। और मेरी विद्यालय की शिक्षा के लिए पैसे नहीं है। जिसके कारण मुझे नहीं लगता कि मैं आगे की पढ़ाई जारी रख पाऊंगा।
किंतु मैं और अधिक पढ़ना चाहता हूं और आगे जाकर पुलिस विभाग में अफसर बनना चाहता हूं। मैं प्रतिवर्ष कक्षा में प्रथम आता हूं साथ ही अन्य प्रतियोगिताओं में भी विद्यालय का नाम रोशन करता रहता हूं।
आपसे निवेदन है कि आप मुझे छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान करें मैं आपका सदा आभारी रहूंगा मुझे उम्मीद है कि आप मुझे निराश नहीं करेंगे।
