Varaha Purana Overview
The description of Puranas comes in Sanatan Hindu Dharma. One of them is the Varaha Purana. This Purana describes the glory of Lord Varaha, one of the various incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is worshiped at a very high level in Hinduism.
In Hindu religious texts also, the description of the special glory of Lord Vishnu is found at many places. This is the reason why he is considered so important. Two hundred and seventeen chapters and about ten thousand verses are described in this Purana. In these verses, the teachings of Lord Varaha have been presented in the form of stories.
In the Varaha Purana, special light has been laid on the worship of the main incarnation of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu ji, the stories of Shiva-Parvati, the glory of the Aditya pilgrimages of Varaha Kshatravriti, the origin of the rivers Mokshdayini and the greatness and glory of the trinity etc.
Varaha Purana Story:
In this Varaha Purana, first there is an auspicious dialogue between the earth and Varaha God, then there is the character of Ramya in the story of Satya Yuga, then the character of the formidable and the Shradh Kalpa is described, then the story of Mahatapa, the origin of Gauri, Vinayak, the Naggan fighter ( Kartikeya) is the story of the Adityas, the goddess Dhanad and Vrisha.
After that the story of Satyatpa’s fast is given, after that Agastya Geeta and Rudragita have been told, in the destruction of Mahishasura the greatness of the three powers of Brahma Vishnu Rudra has been revealed, then Parvadhyaya Shvetopakhyan Gopradik etc. Satyayug Vritha I have shown in the first part. There are stories of fasts and pilgrimages in Bhagavad Dha, physical atonement for thirty-two crimes has been told, there is a description of the greatness of all the pilgrimages, and the glory of Mathura is specially given.
After that there is the method of Shradh etc., after that Yamlok is described from the context of the sage’s son, Karmavipak and Vishnuvrat are described, the sinful glory of Gokarna has also been described, thus it is said in the earlier part of the Varaha Purana, in the north part. In the dialogue of Pulastya and Pururaj, there is a separate description of the greatness of all the pilgrimages in detail. Then there is an explanation of all the religions and a description of the holy festival called Pushkar.
