Tamil Nadu Government Industrial Employees Contributory Provident Fund,1969 Overview

The scheme is executed by this Directorate for the benefit of the daily wages employees employed in the following eight departments.
- Agriculture Department
- Agriculture Department (Oil seeds)
- Horticulture Department
- Sericulture Department
- Animal Husbandry Department
- Forest Department
- Public Works Department
- Agricultural University
Prior to 01.04.1989 contributions were received @ 8.33 % from the Employees’ wages as employees share and the equal share as Government contribution from the concerned departments. From 01.04.1989, contributions @ 10% from the employees’ wages as employees share and equal amount is received from Government as Government share. Interest at the rate as prescribed by Government every year calculated and paid for both the Government share and to the employees share. To settle the Provident Fund scheme in respect of daily wage employees at the time of their relief, applications are received through the department concerned, scrutinized, sanctioned and the amount credited to the beneficiaries to their bank account through NEFT by the Reserve Bank of India. For the last 6 years, 12,845 applications are received from the daily wage earners are sanctioned and the amount paid to the beneficiaries.
