Jan Aushadhi Medicine List Overview
The Jan Aushadhi initiative will make available quality drugs at affordable prices through dedicated stores selling generic medicines which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs. Promote greater awareness about cost effective drugs and their prescription.
Mission

- Generate demand for generic drugs through medical professionals
- There has been a lot of awareness created lately about the need for patients to be more aware of the price they are paying. It’s disturbing, because customers should always feel like they’re getting a fair deal, especially if it’s an expensive product.
- Provide all the commonly used generic medicines covering all the therapeutic groups.
- Provide all the related health care products too, under the scheme.
Objectives:
- To bring down the healthcare budget of every citizen of India through providing Quality generic Medicines at Affordable Prices.
- Ensure access to quality medicines for all sections of the population especially the poor and the deprived ones.
- Create awareness about generic medicines through education and publicity to counter the perception that quality is synonymous with high price only.
- Help generate employment by connecting individual entrepreneurs with PMBJP Kendra.
- Making quality medicines available at affordable prices for all, particularly the poor and disadvantaged, through exclusive outlets “Jan Aushadhi Medical Store”, so as to reduce out of pocket expenses in healthcare.
Features:
- The incentive provided to the Kendra owners has been enhanced from the existing Rs.2.5 lakh to up to Rs.5 lakh, subject to a ceiling of Rs.15,000 per month.
- The one-time incentive of Rs. 2 lakhs will be given towards furniture fixtures and computers printers for PMBJP Kendras opened in the North-Eastern States, Himalayan areas, Island territories and backward areas an aspirational district by NITI Aayog or opened by women entrepreneurs, Divyang, SCs& STs
- Prices for Jan Aushadhi medicines are 50%-90% less than the prices for branded medicines in the open market.
- Any medicines we have are bought from vendors who have been approved by the World Health Organization – Good Manufacturing Practices (WHO-GMP) for ensuring the quality of product.
- Each batch of the drug is tested by laboratories accredited NABL for quality assurance and is carefully monitored.
