Directive Principles of State Policy Overview

As already know that India is an independent country and every person here has his own fundamental rights. The Directive Principles of State Policy are new elements in the direction of constitutional development. Therefore, it is ensured that both men and women have equal participation in the building of the nation.

The Directive Principles of State Policy are described in the fourth part of the Constitution. These elements have been sponsored to achieve social and economic objectives. If you are a candidate and going to appear in some kind of government or competitive examination, then you may be asked questions related to the Directive Principles of State Policy. It also classified these elements into four parts: Economic and Social, Gandhian, International Peace and Security and Miscellaneous Provisions etc.

Directive Principles of State Policy

The Constitution lays down certain Directive Principles of State Policy, although these cannot be justified by law in court, but are fundamental to the governance of the country, and it is the duty of the State to apply these principles in making laws. They stipulate that the State shall, by establishing, as far as possible, a social order in which social, economic and political justice is established in all the institutions of national life, give such direction to the public policies so as to provide adequate means of livelihood to all men and women. Equal pay for equal work and that is within its economic capacity and development, making effective arrangements for securing the right to work, education and public assistance in the case of the unemployed, old age, disease and incapacity or incapacity in other cases to help. The State shall endeavor to achieve subsistence wages for workers, humane conditions of work, decent standard of living and full participation of workers in the management of industries.

In the economic sphere, the state should formulate its policy in such a way as to own and control the distribution of material resources that are helpful to the public interest, and to ensure that the economic system functions as a result of the accumulation of wealth and the means of production. not be to public detriment.

Some of the other important Directive Principles relate to provision of opportunities and facilities for children so that their development takes place, free and compulsory education for all children up to the age of 14 years, education for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other weaker sections. and promotion of economic interests, organization of village panchayats; separation of the judiciary from the executive; Uniform civil for the whole country Enforcing codes, protecting national monuments, promoting justice on the basis of equal opportunity, providing free legal aid, protecting and improving the environment and protecting the country’s forests and wildlife; Development of international peace and security, justice and respectful relations between nations, respect for international law, treaty obligations, settlement of international disputes by intermediaries.
