Amavasya & Purnima 2022 Overview
As you all know that in Sanatan Hindu religion, the importance of Amavasya and Purnima Tithi is considered very much. Because all the festivals in Hinduism are celebrated according to the dates. For example, the Purnimanta calendar starts a day after the full moon date and ends with the next full moon date. At the same time, the new moon calendar starts a day after the new moon day (Amavasya Tithi) and ends on the next new moon. Amavasya is also known as Amavasai or Amavasya. Generally, on the full moon day, there is a law to worship Lord Satyanarayan and observe a fast.
On the other hand, Amavasya Tithi is dedicated to the ancestors. Hence it is believed that on the day of Amavasya, people pay homage to their ancestors by performing the rituals of Shradh or Tarpan. All Amavasya days are considered suitable to please the ancestors and to perform Shradh. Amavasya day is also considered important for performing Kaal Sarp Dosh Puja.
