Child Care Leave can be granted to women employees having minor children below the age of 18 years, for a maximum period of 2 years (i.e. 730 days) during their entire service, for taking care of up to two children whether for rearing or to look after any of their needs like examination, sickness etc.
The salary for the leave taken during the child care leave will be given to the government women employees as per the rules by the state government. Women employees can avail Child Care Leave (CCL) only for a child above the age of 18 years. Child care leave cannot be claimed as a right. Under no circumstances can a woman Government servant go on child care leave without the prior approval of the leave sanctioning authority.
