Shiva Stuti is one of the most famous stutis (poems) composed by Shree Narayana Panditacharya in praise of Lord Shiva written in earth meter. Stuti means praising, singing praises, tandava and praising God’s qualities, deeds and nature by feeling them in our hearts.

In this eulogy, Narayana Panditacharya also praised Shakti, Beauty, Guna, Guna and the five forms of Lord Shiva. Shiva Stuti consists of 13 verses and is recited by Hindus daily or on special festivals like Maha Shivratri. Once it happened that when Sree Narayana Panditacharya went to Rameswaram temple, the doors were locked. He offered prayers to Lord Shiva with “Shiva Stuti”. The doors of the temple opened automatically and he had a vision of Lord Shiva.

शिव स्तुति

शंकरं, शंप्रदं, सज्जनानंददं, शैल – कन्या – वरं, परमरम्यं ।

काम – मद – मोचनं, तामरस – लोचनं, वामदेवं भजे भावगम्यं ॥1॥

कंबु – कुंदेंदु – कर्पूर – गौरं शिवं, सुंदरं, सच्चिदानंदकंदं ।

सिद्ध – सनकादि – योगींद्र – वृंदारका, विष्णु – विधि – वन्द्य चरणारविंदं ॥2॥

ब्रह्म – कुल – वल्लभं, सुलभ मति दुर्लभं, विकट – वेषं, विभुं, वेदपारं ।

नौमि करुणाकरं, गरल – गंगाधरं, निर्मलं, निर्गुणं, निर्विकारं ॥3॥

लोकनाथं, शोक – शूल – निर्मूलिनं, शूलिनं मोह – तम – भूरि – भानुं ।

कालकालं, कलातीतमजरं, हरं, कठिन – कलिकाल – कानन – कृशानुं ॥4॥

तज्ञमज्ञान – पाथोधि – घटसंभवं, सर्वगं, सर्वसौभाग्यमूलं ।

प्रचुर – भव – भंजनं, प्रणत – जन – रंजनं, दास तुलसी शरण सानुकूलं ॥5॥
