The BJP is contesting the assembly elections in alliance with former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh-led Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa-led Shiromani Akali Dal (United). The alliance promised that one lakh acres of ‘Shamlat Bhoomi’ in the state would be allotted to rural landless farmers for cultivation. In addition, every landless farmer of the state will be given an annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana.

• The manifesto promises an annual budget of Rs 5,000 crore to support sustainable agriculture and organic farming in the state.
• An annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 will be given to the landless farmer of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana.
• Subsidy will be given for alternative automatic and smart irrigation systems, which will help in water conservation.
• To promote dairy farming, an organized milk marketing system will be developed by establishing Milk Chilling Center in every village and Milk Processing Unit in every cluster of 30 villages.
• The manifesto promised to subsidize agro-based industries under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program.
• Tax free agro-based industrial clusters comprising small and medium enterprises will be created to attract investment in rural areas. Mega Food Processing Parks will also be set up.
