The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 20 January 2022 released its first list of 34 candidates for the Goa 2022 assembly elections. According to the official list released by the party, the incumbent Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant will contest from Sankhali. In the list of 34 candidates of BJP, there are nine candidates from minority community. Deputy Chief Minister and Pernem MLA Manohar ‘Babu’ Ajgaonkar has been fielded from Margao. The BJP has also dropped sitting MLA Isidore Fernandes and fielded former sports minister Ramesh Tavdkar as its candidate.
