Permission for retention of current railway quarter by OSD/SCoR at his previous place of posting

Sub: Permission for retention of current railway quarter by OSD/SCoR at his previous place of posting.

Vide Board’s letter No.2019/E&R/1(1)/1 dated 28.3.2019, OSD/South Coast Railway has been delegated powers available to DRMs under Model SOP 2018. OSD/South Coast Railway is functioning from office premises in Vishakhapatnam station compound with nucleus staff spared by Waltair Division/East Coast Railway. The delegated powers inter-alia stipulated (vide para 4 of Board’s letter dated 28.3.3019) that;

“OSD/SCoR mayretain current railway quarter at SCR/Secunderabad for next two years. This will not bar allotment of official quarter at Visakhapatnam. This arrangement will be till the time the present incumbent is holding the post of OSD/SCoR or next two years, whichever is earlier. After that, normal housing rule should be followed.”

2. In view of above, Board have considered the request received from OSD/SCoR and decided that retention of current railway quarter for OSD/South Coast Railway at his previous place of posting may be extended till the time he is holding the post of OSD/SCoR or for next two years from the date he has assumed charge of the post from 18.06.2021, i.e. upto 17.06.2023, whichever is earlier. After that, normal housing rule should be followed. This will not bar allotment of official quarter at Vishakhapatnam.

3 This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
