Office Memorandum

Subject : Implementation of the recommendation of GDS Committee for restricting the number of cases under Rule 10 and other disciplinary cases.

The undersigned is directed to refer to Department of Posts Office Memorandum of even number dated 16.09.2019 on the above noted subject.

2. The Competent Authority has approved the following replacement of para 2 (i) (2) of ibid Office Memorandum for ceiling on the appearing as Defense Assistant by Retired Government Servants under Rule 10 of GDS (Conduct & Engagement) Rules:-

1Ceiling on the appearing as Defence Assistants by the Retired Government ServantsRetired Government Servant should not act as a Defence Assistant in more than 7 cases at a time under Rule 10 of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020. In case a retired Government Servant acts as Defence Assistant under CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 also, then the limit as prescribed for Defence Assistant under Rule 10 of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020 shall also include such cases, which fall under CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965.

3. The rest of instructions issued vide Department of Posts O.M. of even number dated 16.09.2019 shall remain unchanged The above instruction s will come into effect from the date of issue of this O.M.
