In terms of DOP&T’s office memorandum No. 11013/9/2014-Estt. A. III dated 16/17.03.2020 circulated vide Board’s letter mentioned under reference, due to spread of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), several Railway establishments had to be closed.

NF Railway in their letter under reference, has requested for re-opening of Community Halls/ Railway Institutes for marriages and other social purposes in this unlocked period when Government offices are running regularly and Marriages /other social ceremonies are also being held.

The proposal of the NF Railway has been examined in Board’s office and it has been decided to empower the General Managers to take a decision in the matter in line with the para 9(v) of Ministry of Home Affairs No. 40-3 /2020-DM-1(A) dated 25.11.2020. Re-opening of Community Halls may be done subject to fulfilment of local restriction laid down by the State Government and Union Territories with due observation and strict enforcement of the guidelines issued under Disaster Management Act-2005.

This disposes of NF Railway’s letter No. E/322/182-3(W) dated 05.01.2021.
