Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the son of God. Many homes have Christmas trees and other decorations in the weeks leading to Christmas Day.

Popular customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive.
Origin
The first known date of Christmas being rejoiced on December 25th was in 336 AD, through the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine who was the first Christian Roman Emperor. After some years, Pope Julius I formally announced that the birth of Jesus would be rejoiced on the 25th December.
