The Secretary (E),
Railway Board,
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
Sub: Engagement of retired staff on daily remuneration — enhancement of upper age limit and revision of rates of daily allowances applicable to various Pay Band + GP vis-à-vis 7th CPC Pay Matrix levels within Group ‘C’ — reg.
Ref: (i) Railway Board’s letter No.E(NG)II/2007/RC-4/CORE/1 dated 11/12/2009.
(ii) Railway Board’s letter No.E(NG)II/2010/RC-4/6 dated 07/10/2016.
NFIR brings to the notice of Railway Board that the rates of daily remuneration paid to retired Group ‘C’ staff engaged in exigencies of services were revised last vide Board’s letter dated 11/12/2009, consequent upon implementation of VI CPC pay structure. These rates of remuneration are required to be enhanced with effect from January 1, 2016 as the 7th CPC pay matrices have already been allotted to regular staff in railways w.e.f. 01/01/2016.
The Federation also desires to state that the retired railway staff engaged in various commercial activities such as JJBS, SDBA & YTSK are allowed to work beyond 62 years of age. It would therefore be logical to allow retired Group ‘C’ staff to work in exigencies beyond 62 years of age.
NFIR, therefore, requests the Railway Board to kindly revise the rates of daily allowance based on 7th CPC pay matrix levels immediately and also consider upper age relaxation to enable the retired staff to work in exigencies atleast upto the age of 65 years.
Yours faithfully,
(Dr M. Raghavaiah)
General Secretary
