Hundreds of ex-servicemen are expected to stage a protest in the national capital on Sunday demanding implementation of one-rank-one-pension (OROP) scheme.

“Perhaps up to 10,000 are expected,” Lt Gen (retd) Raj Kadyan, one of those leading the protest, said. The protest would begin at 10.30 in the morning, not just in Delhi but also in many other cities, he said.

Ex-servicemen from Delhi, and neighbouring states are expected to converge in the capital for the Sunday protest. Gen Kadyan said they would begin a relay hunger strike on Monday in the capital, and will carry on until their demand is met.
