OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject :- Treatment of the period of training or instruction in India as ‘duty’ under F.R. 9(6) (b) (i).
The undersigned is directed to refer to the Ministry of Finance Office Memorandum No.F.2(71)-E.III/60 dated the 3rd December, 1960 on the above subject and to enclose a Table showing the various courses of training which are treated as duty for the purpose of F.R.9(6) (b) (i). This Ministry is at present preparing the Central Pay Code which inter alia incorporates all the training courses being treated as duty. Under the powers delegated to Ministries vide office Memorandum referred above, certain periods of training might have also been declared as training by the appointing authorities. The Ministry of Home Affairs etc. a.e. requested to indicate whether any courses of training applicable to persons serving under them have been left out of the table and if so, they may furnish particulars thereof for inclusion in the table. As it is proposed to issue the Code shortly, it is requested that the information called for may kindly be furnished urgently.
