Revision of scales of pay of Grade I of the C.S.S and the posts of Under Secretary to the Government of India

No.F.4(2)-Est.III/62
Government of India
Ministry of Finance
(Department of Expenditure)

New Delhi -2, dated the 6th August, 1962

From
Shri Rabi Ray,
Deputy Secretary to the Government of India

To

The Accountant General, Central Revenues,
New Delhi

Subject :- Revision of scales of pay of Grade I of the C.S.S and the posts of Under Secretary to the Government of India.

Sir,

I am directed to refer to this Ministry’s letter of even number dated the 18th April, 1962 on the subject mentioned above.

2. It has been brought to the notice of this Ministry that these orders do not fully cover a case where an officer was officiating in Grade I of the C.S.S on 1-7-1959 (and had his pay fixed in the scale of Rs.900-50-1200) and was later on reverted and again reappointed to officiate in Grade I either from or before 1.4.1962 or after 1.4.1962.

3. In such cases the pay in the scale of Rs.900-50-1250 from 1-4-1962 or a later date as the case may be, will be fixed under the provisions of Audit Instruction 1 below F.R.22 as stated in paras 1 and 3 of the letter dated the 18th April, 1962 referred to above.

4. The President is, however, pleased to decide that if the pay so fixed is equal to the pay as fixed for the officer on 1-7-1959 in the scale of Rs.900-1200 then the service rendered in the pre-revised scale of Rs. 800-1150 which would have counted for increment at the stage fixed for him in the revised scale of Rs.900-50-1200 under rule 11 of the Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1960 (had he not reverted) shall also count for next increment in the scale of Rs.900-50-1250 after fixation of initial pay.

Yours faithfully,

Sd/-
(RABI RAY)
Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.
