Regulation of pay of officers of Central and State Services appointed as Under and Deputy Secretaries to the Government of India

 OFFICE MEMORANDUM

 Subject:- Regulation of pay of officers of Central and State Services appointed as Under and Deputy Secretaries to the Government of India.

 The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s Office Memorandum of Home Affairs letter No.1/95/64-AIS(II) dated the 2nd February 1966 addressed to the Chief Secretaries of all State Governments (reproduced below) and to say that the President is pleased to decide that the revised ceiling of Rs. 2250 for pay plus special pay will also be applicable with effect from 1-2-66 to officers of the Central Services Class I when appointed as Deputy Secretaries to the Govt. of India, if the officers draw grade pay in the Senior Administrative Grade (Rs. 1800-2000 or Rs. 1800-2250).

 2. Para 2 of this Ministry’s Office Memorandum No.F.3(26)-E.III/57 dated the 4th September, 1957, on the above subject should be deemed to have been modified to the above extent.

 Ministry of Home Affairs letter No.1/95/64-AIS(II) dt. 2-2-66

 Subject:    Ceiling of pay in the election grade of the I.A.S. plus special pay.

 I am directed to say that the Government of India have decided in supersession of all the  previous orders that with effect from the 1st February 1966 the ceiling over pay in the selection grade plus special pay admissible to I.A.S. officers in the various posts under the State Government as well as under the Central Government shall be revised from Rs.2150/2000 to Rs. 2250.

2.Formal amendments to provision to clause (3) of Schedule III-B of the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 1954, in this regard will be issued in due course.

3. These issues in consultation with the Ministry of Finance.
