 OFFICE MEMORANDUM.

 Subject:- Regulation of initial pay on promotion or appointment to a higher post – Benefit of at least one increment – Pay Commission’s recommendations regarding.

The undersigned is directed to refer to the Ministry of Finance Office Memorandum No.F.2(9)-EIII/61 dated the 20th March 1961 on the subject mentioned above.

2. The orders contained in this O.M. will not be applicable in respect of Government servants who are at the maximum of the time-scale of the lower post at the time of promotion to a higher post.  In such cases the pay on promotion will be fixed at the stage in the time-scale of the higher post next above the pay at the maximum in the time-scale of the lower post and for this purpose no distinction should be made on the ground that the lower post was held in a quasi-permanent or temporary and no permanent capacity.

3. In so far as personnel serving in the Indian Audit & Accounts Department are concerned, these orders are being consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General. re-employment in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department is concerned, these orders are issued in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General.
