OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject:- Fixation of pay of officials holding posts in the scale of Rs. 210-10-290-15-320-EB-15-425 on their appointment to the posts carrying scale of Rs. 210-10-270-15-300-EB-15-450-EB-20-530.

A question has been raised whether duties and responsibilities attached to the posts carrying the scale of Rs.210-10-270-15-300-EB-15-450-EB-20-530 are higher or equivalent to those of the posts in the scale of Rs. 210-10-290-15-320-EB-15-425. It has been decided that for purposes of Government of India’s decision No.2 below F.R. 22 posts carrying the scale of Rs. 210-10-290-15-320-EB-15-425 may be considered as equivalent to posts carrying the scale of Rs. 210-10-270-15-300-EB-15-450-EB-20-530 except in case of appointments of Class III stenographers in the scale of Rs. 210-10-290-15-320-EB-15-425 to Class II posts of Assistant (non-gazetted) in the scale of Rs. 210-10-270-15-300-EB-15-450-EB-20-530 which may be treated as involving assumption of higher duties and responsibilities.

2.This takes effect from the date of issue and past cases decided otherwise need not be reopened.

3.In so far as persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders issue after consultation with the Comptroller & Auditor General of India.
