Fixation of pay of officers on probation in the Finance and Commerce Department Cadre appointed to the post of Under Secretary

 OFFICE MEMORANDUM

 Subject:- Fixation of pay of officers on probation in the Finance and Commerce Department Cadre appointed to the post of Under Secretary.

 A question has been raised as to how the pay of an officer on probation in the Finance and Commerce Department Cadre appointed to a post of Under Secretary is to be fixed in the scale of Rs.800-50-1150 prescribed for this post under the Central Civil Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 1947.   The undersigned is directed to say that the pay of such an officer should be fixed in the prescribed scale as if he is an officer belonging to an Established Central Service (Class I) and in the manner indicated in this Ministry’s Office Memorandum No.F.1(44)-Est.(Spl)/47, dated the 28th June, 1948, irrespective of whether the post of Under Secretary is in the Finance and Commerce Department Cadre or outside the Cadre.
