OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject :- Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1960

The undersigned is directed to invite a reference to paragraph 3 of this Ministry’s office Memorandum No.F.12(6)-Est.(Spl)/60 dated the 26th August, 1960, wherein Ministries/Departments of the Government of India were requested to ensure that the arrear bills consequent on the fixation of pay under the C.C.S.(R.P.) Rules, 1960, should be prepared and arrears paid to Government servants with the utmost expedition. It has been brought to the notice of this Ministry that there are still a good number of officers whose pay has not yet been fixed in the appropriate revised scales resulting in the accumulation of large arrears of pay and allowances with effect from 1.7.1959, the date of effect of the revised scales of pay. It is once again stressed that it is of the utmost importance that the fixation of pay under the C.C.S.(R.P.) Rules, 1960 and the payment of arrears arising therefrom should be completed very expeditiously. The administrative authorities are accordingly requested to kindly verify whether the fixation of pay and payment of arrears have been completed in respect of all the staff in the extablishments under them and to take prompt action where necessary.

2. In cases where revised scales of pay have not been laid down so far, prompt action may kindly be taken in this regard in consultation with this Ministry.
