OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:-CENTRAL CIVIL SERVICES (REVISED PAY) RULES, 1960- FIXATION OF PAY ON SELECTION GRADES CREATED ON THE RECCOMMENDATIONS OF THE PAY COMMISSION.
The undersigned is directed to say that on the recommendations of the Pay Commission, selection grade posts have been created for certain categories and the percentage of selection grade posts where they existed before, has been increased in respect of certain other categories of posts. A question has arisen as to how the pay of persons who are appointed to the selection grade posts created for the first time with effect from the Ist July, 1959 should be fixed on the revised scales of pay. It has been decided that the pay of such persons should first be fixed in the revised scale of the ordinary grade under Rule 10(1) of the Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1960, and then refixed in the selection grade under the normal rules with reference to the revised pay in the ordinary grade.
