Subject: Software (E-PPO utility) for processing pension cases.
Since its inception, the Central Pension Accounting Office has been committed to provide service delivery to maximum satisfaction of the pensioner. To make the system more efficient Information Technology may play a vital role. IT applications lead to more efficient service delivery by decreasing time and facilitating co-ordination of the total service delivery process. Introduction of E-PPO project in CPAO is a step in that direction. It replaces the present system of manual process of payment of pension and other benefits by the electronic mode. Accordingly, a software for uploading the E-PPO was developed by the Office of the Controller General of Accounts and CPAO.
In the first phase all PAOs were advised through their respective Pr. CCAs/CCAs/CAs to issue the PPOs electronically of all Govt. Servants retiring from June, 2013 onwards wide this office OM No. CPAO/Tech/e-PPO/2013-14/57 dated-03.06.2013 (copy enclosed) simultaneously with the hard copy of PPO. The process of generating the text file and uploading the same as CPAOs website was also made available in the above OM.
But, the analysis of progress in the implementation of E-PPO project at this level reveals that most of the pay Accounts Offices are either not uploading the data on CPAOs’ website or not uploading the same simultaneously with the submission of hard copy of PPO to CPAO. Present status report is enclosed for ready reference. This slackness of PAOs has slowed down the pace of the process of implementation of e-PPO
Therefore, all Pr. CCAs/CCAs/CAs (with independent charge) are requested to review the status of uploading of e-PPO and to issue instructions to all concerned to strictly upload the E-PPO on CPAOs’ website positively and before the dispatch of same to CPAO.
